Everyone is an Artist

 

Everyone is an artist.

Everyone is a poet.

It just seems to me

they have yet to know it.

 

The astronomer listens

to the music of the spheres.

Viewing stars from afar

she sings harmony through the years.

 

The plumber plays with pipes

so many configurations.

The inner workings of a house

defies one’s imagination.

 

Truck drivers on each interstate

wheels in syncopated time

is nothing less than poetry

with lyrics that will rhyme.

 

Ladder leans against a house

bright paint on sided wood

is a pallet for any spouse

and does the common good.

 

Yes, everyone is a poet

when they listen to their muse

channeling the universe

flowering with colorful hues.
