Poetry Abounds

A lyric of a song,

The jingle of an ad,

The rhythm of the traffic,

A sonnet when you’re glad.

The lament of one voice,

A cementer mixing sand,

The cry of a child,

A sigh throughout the land.

A hymn by a choir,

A clock ticking time,

The pluck of a lyre

The blank verse without rhyme.

The moon pulling tides,

Rain forests that breathe,

Amusement Park rides,

Wind passing through leaves.

Your heart beating now,

Footsteps on the stairs,

If only we see how

Poetry is everywhere.
