Change
“Do you
think it is easy to change?
Ah, it is
hard to change and be different.
It means
passing through the waters of oblivion.”
D. H.
Lawrence
It dances in mid-winter
as
it races with the sun.
It jingles in your pockets
waiting
to be spent on fun.
It is ever moving, never still,
in
a deep and dark cocoon.
It is the rhythm of a heartbeat
within
a mother’s womb.
It wrinkles the skin of the aging
and
makes adolescents cry.
It haunts the halls of hospitals
so
that beloved ones will sigh.
It is the boatman at the river Styx
as
he beckons everyone.
It cannot be ignored or stop
stirring
the waters of oblivion.
